Unified Police seek gunman who hit 2 stores in 10 minutes

First Published Jun 18 2014 12:31 pm • Last Updated Jun 18 2014 04:52 pm

Unified Police want to make a gas station robber a video star — just long enough to put him behind bars.

UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal on Wednesday released security camera footage of the gunman, a 5-foot-4 Latino wearing a black mask, black hooded sweatshirt, light colored sweatpants and carrying a white garbage bag.

The suspect is sought in armed robberies at two Conoco stations just 10 minutes apart on Tuesday night in Taylorsville. The first occurred 8:02 p.m. at 2187 W. 4700 South, the second at 8:12 p.m. at 4841 S. Redwood Road.

In both holdups the suspect entered the stores and confronted the clerks at gunpoint, demanding cash from the till. He appeared to have fled both locations on foot.

No one was injured in either of the robberies.

However, the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone who recognizes him or has other information on these cases is asked to call UPD at 385-468-9814.
