Five hospitalized after Juab County crash
Five people went to the hospital after a sport utility vehicle T-boned a motorhome in Juab County.
About 11:40 a.m. Friday, a Springville husband and wife stopped their motorhome, pulling a boat, in the emergency lane on northbound Interstate 15, just south of Nephi. The driver tried to make a U-turn when a northbound Toyota Highlander, with five people inside, struck the driver's door on the motorhome, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
Following the collision, the motorhome accelerated and went down an embankment on the west side of the highway.
Five of the seven people involved were taken to Central Valley Medical Center in Nephi. A UHP news release does not describe the extent of their injuries.
"UHP wishes to remind all drivers that making a U-turn on any freeway is illegal and extremely unsafe," the release reads. "The marked median turn areas are for emergency vehicles only and are clearly posted as such. All drivers must go to the next exit if they need to turn around and head the other direction."
