Luck ran out for a fugitive wanted on multiple warrants when he walked out of a downtown Salt Lake City motel.

Police say it all began to unravel for the 30-year-old man, who has a long history of drug, weapons and theft-related offences, when his car was spotted parked outside the Royal Garden Inn, 154 W. 600 South.

Officers kept an eye on the exits and at 5:19 p.m. Thursday the suspect came out of the motel. Approached by police, he attempted to run but was soon apprehended.

He was booked into Salt Lake County Jail, where he remained Friday in lieu of almost $32,000 bail on suspicion of felony counts ranging from possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of stolen property and possession of a weapon by a restricted person to misdemeanor counts of failure to stop at a command of a police officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving on a denied license.
