West Valley City police are looking for a man who entered the home of an elderly woman and tried to assault her just before 5 a.m. Tuesday

The man ran when the victim screamed for help. The suspect was last seen running eastbound from the home, located near 6200 W. 3500 South, according to a press release.

The woman described the male as a mid-late 20 year old white male wearing dark clothing and a "knit style" hat.

Approximately 40 minutes later, two blocks to the northwest, a woman preparing for work saw a male watching her through the glass door of her home from the backyard.

The suspect ran when the female reached for the phone and yelled that she was calling the police.

The second woman described him as being a white male about 20 years old wearing blue jeans, a dark colored beanie, and possibly a green shirt.

Based on geographic proximity as well as consistencies in suspect description, these two cases are possibly related.

Anyone with information about the cases is urged to contact the West Valley Police Department at 801-840-4000.
