A Tooele County wildfire Saturday grew to more than 4,000 acres in about three hours.
Fire officials confirmed the blaze, dubbed the Rough Haul Fire, started on the U.S. Army's Dugway Proving Ground about 3 p.m. Saturday. Wind fed the fire burning through grass northeast of the military installation, said Jason Curry, spokesman for the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands.
The 15 to 20 people who make up Dugway's fire department are trying to contain the fire, and an additional 60 firefighters are on their way to help, Curry said. However, unexploded ordnance in the area has limited their access, so two helicopters and two single-engine air tankers were also helping.
At this point, the flames are not threatening any structures, Curry added.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
