A man who was pulled from the Weber River by his mother after she found him laying face down in the water was in serious condition on Tuesday, authorities say.

The near drowning occurred about 6 p.m. Monday near 429 S. 5000 West in Weber County. The mother spotted her son in the water and pulled him to the bank, according to the Weber Fire District.

The fire district, the Weber County Sheriff's Office and the Ogden Fire Department responded to the scene, and the man was flown to Ogden Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The man's name was not released, pending notification and approval of the family, according to the Weber County Sheriff's Office.
