A weekend South Ogden collision has claimed the life of a second elderly victim.

South Ogden police spokeswoman Marci Edwards confirmed that Vivian Sylvester, 92, had succumbed to her injuries at the hospital early Tuesday morning.

Her husband, 93-year-old Russell Sylvester, was dead at the scene of the 4 p.m. Sunday crash near Harrison Boulevard and Highway 89.

The couple, with Russell Sylvester at the wheel, were westbound on Highway 89 in a 1999 Saturn when they collided with a southbound 2007 Toyota at the intersection with Harrison Boulevard.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation, though witnesses reported that the Sylvesters' Saturn may have run a red light.

A 54-year-old man and a 52-year-old woman in the Toyota were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
