Ogden motorcyclist dies in SR-79 crash

A motorcyclist was killed late Monday morning in Ogden when he collided with a car that turned in front of him.

Ogden police confirmed that the crash occurred at 11:07 a.m. Monday when the eastbound car made a left turn, pulling into the path of the westbound motorcyclist on Highway 79.

The rider laid his bike down in an attempt to avoid hitting the car, but was traveling an estimated 50-55 mph at the time and still struck the vehicle.

The motorcyclist died at the scene; the driver of the car was unhurt.
