First Published Jun 02 2014 09:08 am • Last Updated Jun 02 2014 10:35 pm

A suspected drunk driver who allegedly triggered a multi-injury crash this weekend was booked into Tooele County Jail as a "John Doe" until Utah Highway Patrol investigators confirm his identity.

UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said troopers told him Monday that the man, arrested Saturday night, was "not being cooperative" in revealing his name. Authorities were awaiting fingerprint processing results.

Meanwhile, two people ejected and seriously injured after the suspect’s vehicle struck a minivan, causing it to roll on eastbound Interstate 80 near State Road 201, were reported to be improving Monday and expected to recover.

UHP said that the suspect attempted to flee the crash site, running east on the State Road 201 ramp, but a trooper caught up to him and took him into custody.
