A 3-year-old girl was upgraded to serious condition Friday, the day after she the car she was riding in was struck by a pickup truck in Sunset.

Sunset police Officer Cody Butcher said that doctors reported the girl's vital signs had been stabilized and that she had improved since she was flown Thursday afternoon to Salt Lake City's Primary Children's Hospital in critical condition.

The girl's father and a 1-year-old brother, who had been hospitalized with scrapes and bruises, had been released, Butcher said.

The girl's father was turning left from Main Street onto 1800 North when the southbound truck struck the car.

The driver of the truck was uninjured.
