South Davis Metro Fire responded and quickly extinguished the flames, which were licking the exterior of the home near the carport, fire officials said.

There were people inside the home at the time of the fire, which caused about $3,000 in damage, fire officials said.

No one was hurt.

It didn’t take long for investigators to determine the blaze was no accident.

Law enforcement officers arrested the woman on suspicion of aggravated arson and booked her into the Davis County Jail about 4:30 a.m. Monday.

She had not yet been charged late Monday morning.

The woman has no criminal history in the state, according to court records.
