A semitrailer truck caught fire on Interstate 15 in Utah County, blocking all southbound traffic temporarily Tuesday evening.

The truck was engulfed in flames about 4:50 p.m. at exit 273, near Lindon, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce. No injuries had been reported and the cause of the fire was not known, Royce said.

The wreck initially forced the closure of all southbound lanes, but two lanes had been reopened as of 5:30 p.m., Royce said.

Drivers should expect delays, Royce said. Traffic had been diverted to 1600 North during the closure, the Utah Department of Transportation reported.
