A missing Alpine woman has been found safe in Salt Lake City.

The 27-year-old was last seen in Alpine on Wednesday; the police believed that she had left her home voluntarily. When she did not return Thursday, her family grew concerned and asked the police to find her.

The police put out a call for law enforcement to locatethe woman, but there was no evidence that she was in danger, according to a Lone Peak police news release.

Then Saturday afternoon, her mother reported to the police the missing woman had called her, saying that she had been kidnapped and that her car had been stolen, according to the release.

"The line disconnected before any additional information could be gathered," the release adds.

A few hours later, Lone Peak police confirmed she was safe at her father's home in Salt Lake City. Investigators plan to talk to her to find out what happened.
