A woman's body was found Saturday morning near an old Iron County motocross track.

About 10:30 a.m., Iron County sheriff's deputies were called to Tipple Road, about two miles south of Cedar City, and found her body near the road. Her death is "definitely suspicious because of where [she] was found," said Iron County sheriff's Sgt. Nik Johnson, but he could not elaborate.

Investigators are still trying to confirm her identity. In the meantime, her body has been taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

The sheriff's office expects to have an update within the next two days.
