2nd person arrested in deadly wreck in Millville
A second person has been charged in a traffic crash that killed the co-owner of Logan's popular Caffe Ibis.
Michelle Hoppie, 42, was charged this week with second-degree felony automobile homicide in the April 10 Millville wreck that led to the death of Randy Wirth, 67.
Hoppie was arrested Friday for allegedly encouraging Alvin Henson to drive her truck, while he was drunk, to get more beer, The Herald Journal of Logan reported last week.
Witnesses described Henson's driving as erratic as he went east on 200 South, Cache County sheriff's officers reported. Henson's truck crossed into the westbound lanes and hit a Cadillac DeVille near 140 West. Wirth, who was driving a motorcycle, also was struck. He died two days later. Wirth owned Caffe Ibis Coffee Roasting Co. in downtown Logan with his wife, Sally Sears.
Hoppie also was charged with misdemeanor tampering with an ignition interlock system.
