A teen motorcyclist was in serious condition and his female passenger was listed as critical following a weekend crash with a car in St. George.
St. George police Sgt. Sam Despain said on Monday that no citations had been issued, but preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of a Honda Civic caused the crash by suddenly pulling in front of the motorcycle about 9 p.m. Sunday on River Road and Fort Pierce Drive.
The Honda was exiting a Chevron station to head north on River Road when the accident with the southbound motorcycle occurred. The 19-year-old male driver of the bike sustained head injuries and road rash; the 18-year-old female rider suffered severe head trauma, Despain said.
Both remained at Dixie Valley Regional Medical Center on Monday.
While neither of the victims was wearing a helmet, investigators found no evidence of speeding.
Despain said it was likely, however, that the Honda’s driver eventually would be cited for failure to yield right of way.
