Lindon police are looking for two bank robbers who allegedly pepper-sprayed employees and shocked one several times.
Two men, one dressed in a dark business suit and one in a light business suit, were armed with firearms, stun guns and pepper spray when they allegedly robbed the American Bank of Commerce branch at 144 S. State Street Friday afternoon. Police describe their heist as a "takeover" of the bank; one of the suspects jumped the counter to reach the tellers and possibly to further intimidate them, according to a news release.
"The suspects were extremely aggressive and threatening to bank employees as they sought compliance with their demands," the release reads.
One employee was pepper sprayed directly in the face and received several discharges from a "'stun-gun' type device," the release adds. Other employees had firearms held to their head and were also exposed to pepper spray, according to the police.
The two suspects are described as men, possibly in their 30s, and either white or light-skinned Latino. Besides the dark and white business suits, they were both wearing heavy boots, black wigs and fake beards, according to the release.
The two were last seen fleeing southwest on foot. They may have used a dark or maroon sedan or cross-over type SUV, the release adds.
The bank remained closed the rest of Friday as counselors worked with the robbery victims.
The amount of money the suspects made off with was not disclosed.
