Ann Romney to address 1,764 SUU graduates

9 a.m. Friday » Ann Romney, wife of former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, will speak at Southern Utah University’s graduation ceremonies today. The Cedar City institution will graduate 1,764 students at Centrum Arena, 351 W Center St.

Individual colleges’ convocations will be held later in the day.

The student speaker will be creative writing major Valerie Owens. Honorary degrees will be awarded to Ann Romney as well as Zions Bank president & CEO Scott Anderson and David Lee, the first poet laureate of Utah.

Eleven faculty members and one student, valedictorian Kori Corbridge, also will receive awards.
