A man found dead Thursday in an ATV crash in the West Canyon area of Utah County has been identified as 63-year-old Michael Boren, of Lehi.

Boren appeared to have been driving out of the right fork of the canyon when his ATV ran up an embankment and he was thrown to the ground, Utah County sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon said. He said the vehicle rolled and came to rest on Boren, who was face down on the ground.

Boren appeared to have been unable to free himself, Cannon said. He was found by a man who came across the crash site in the most northwestern part of the county at about 7 p.m. Thursday and called for help on his cell phone.

Investigators found evidence indicating that methamphetamine might have been a factor in the crash, Cannon said.
