Utah Transit Authority has beefed up its TRAX light rail service for the Easter Weekend, anticipating increased demand due to numerous sporting and other events, community activities and holiday celebrations.

Among Saturday's activities are the Salt Lake City Marathon, Salt Lake Comic Con, the University of Utah spring football game and a variety of Easter-related festivities expected to clog downtown streets and parking facilities.

UTA officials expect thousands of people will opt for public transit over driving into downtown, and suggest using the UTA Trip Planner application. The app has been updated to reflect bus, TRAX and FrontRunner commuter train schedules revised especially for this weekend.

UTA services will run on a regular Saturday schedule unless listed below, with detours to some Salt Lake City bus routes until approximately 8:30 a.m. due to the marathon. Bus routes 2, 3, 6, 21, 33, 39, 45, 200, 205, 209, 213, 220, 470 and 516 will be impacted by that.

For more information on bus detours, contact UTA customer service at 801-Ride-UTA.
