Syracuse police are looking for handgun-brandishing bandit who held up the local Dairy Queen restaurant.

Officer Erin Behm said the male suspect — a 5-foot-6 Latino, masked with a black bandana and sunglasses and clad in a black, yellow and red beanie cap, dark sweatpants and a black athletic jacket — walked into the business at 901 W. 1700 South about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday.

He approached the counter, pointed his pistol at the clerk, and demanded and received money from the cash register. The gunman then ran from the scene and was last seen heading through the parking lot.

Police set up a search area but did not find the suspect.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call the Syracuse Police Department at 801-825-4400.
