A man was killed Tuesday evening after being hit by a FrontRunner train near Clearfield.

Utah Transit Authority spokesman Remi Barron confirmed that a man walking down the middle of the tracks was hit by one of the commuter trains. The accident occurred near where the tracks cross 2300 North on the border between Sunset and Clinton.

"It appears to be a suicide," Barron said.

The accident caused delays on the line near the Clearfield and Roy stations, UTA tweeted at 8:07 p.m. UTA set up a bus bridge for several hours between the Clearfield and Roy stations.
