At some point, a shot or shots were fired and the man was killed. A press release later identified him as 38-year-old Vincent John Farrand.

No officers were injured.

The officer involved has been put on administrative leave, according to the release.

Police were investigating who fired and how many times, Robison said. A neighbor said she thought she heard four gunshots.

Robison was not sure if the shooting occurred inside or outside the home.

It was not immediately if the residence was the man’s home, or if he was a visitor there. Robison said he was unsure if other people were at the home at the time.

A medical helicopter was called after the shooting, but the man died at the scene, said Robison.
