Two men's bodies were recovered Monday from a helicopter crash in Emery County.

Pilot Robin Francis Venuti and passenger Albert Munoz Rubio took off in the helicopter 11:15 a.m. Sunday from Green River as part of an expedition for shed elk antlers, Grand County sheriff's deputies had reported. Crews began searching Sunday night when they were reported to be overdue.

Assisted by Utah Department of Public Safety aircraft, crews found the helicopter about 2:30 p.m. Monday on the west side of Desolation Canyon in Emery County, about 40 river miles north of Green River.

Neither man had survived. Venuti, 38, lived in Washington. Rubio, 36, lived in Beaver.

Tribune reporters Michael McFall and Erin Alberty contributed to this story.
