A young man robbed a bank in Daybreak Friday afternoon and police hope the public can help catch him.

The man walked into the Zions Bank at 4753 W. Daybreak Parkway at about 3:30 p.m., according to South Jordan Master Officer Sam Winkler. The man then handed a teller a note demanding money and the teller complied.

Winkler said the man fled on foot. No injuries resulted from the hold-up and the man did not brandish a weapon.

Police searched the area for the man, using dogs to track his scent, but were unable to locate him.

Winkler described the suspect as a white man in his 20s with reddish brown hair and a beard. He stands about 6 feet tall or slightly shorter. During the robbery, he wore a red jacket.

Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call South Jordan Police at 801-840-4000.
