Utah Highway Patrol troopers say a Spanish Fork Canyon crash that killed an Ogden teen and her brother occurred when the victims' car suddenly pulled in front of an oncoming Jeep Wrangler near Thistle.
UHP Sgt. Todd Royce said that both the Nissan's driver, 16-year-old Katherine P. Marcus, and her passenger and brother, Taylor Marcus, 12, were ejected despite wearing seatbelts. Both were dead at the scene of the 1:06 p.m. Thursday accident at the junction of Highways 6 and 89.
None of the three occupants of the Jeep were seriously hurt, Royce said.
The Jeep was eastbound on Highway 6 when the Nissan, northbound, suddenly drove into the Jeep's path and was T-boned, UHP said.
The Jeep's driver told troopers there was no time to avoid the collision.
No citations were issued.
