Police in Utah County are investigating the death of a 20-year-old Provo woman who disappeared Wednesday evening.

A deputy found Hadley A. Boberg's body near a road about 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the South Fork area of Provo Canyon, near Vivian Park, said Utah County sheriff's Lt. Tom Hodgson. Her death is being considered suspicious, but that could change as detectives learn more details, Hodgson said.

Boberg told friends that she was going for a drive in Hobble Creek Canyon on Wednesday evening, but she did not come home, Hodgson said. Deputies did not find Boberg or her car in Hobble Creek Canyon so began searching other nearby canyons. Boberg's car was found near her body, Hodgson said.

Hodgson would not discuss possible causes of the woman's death. Investigators were interviewing a male acquaintance of Boberg who was in the vicinity of her body. He initially was considered a person of interest but now is thought to be a witness only, Hodgson said.

The Tribune will provide further details as they become available.
