Two people died in a Tuesday crash at the junction of U.S. Highway 6 and U.S. Highway 89 in Spanish Fork Canyon.

The crash occurred about 1 p.m., when an eastbound Jeep Wrangler T-boned a northbound Nissan Maxima near Thistle, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce. The accident threw Katherine Marcus, 16, and Taylor Marcus, 12, of Ogden, from the Maxima. They both died at the scene of the accident.

The three people in the Jeep did not suffer serious injuries.

One lane of traffic remained open at the crash scene.
