Police responded to two armed robberies incidents within the space of seven minutes in west Salt Lake City on Tuesday night.
The first report came at 9:15 p.m. at a Little Caesar’s Pizza, 805 S. 900 West. A 5-foot-6 white man, approximately 40 years old, brandished a weapon — police declined to identify it, citing their ongoing investigation — and took cash from an employee.
The suspect, of medium build and wearing a black ski mask, black hooded sweatjacket, gray shirt, gloves and blue jeans, then fled on foot heading northbound.
At 9:22 p.m., a valet outside the Red Iguana restaurant told police he was approached by a 6-foot, 180-pound white male adult about 50 years old, a threatened with an unspecified weapon.
However, when the valet refused to hand over cash and began to confront the suspect, the man — last seen wearing a blue and white jacket, dirty jeans and a red beanie-style cap — ran away.
Anyone with information on either of these cases is asked to call SLCPD at 801-799-3000.
