Tooele police said a distraught woman who disappeared in her car last week has been found dead, the apparent victim of suicide.

Capt. Paul Wimmer confirmed Wednesday that the 19-year-old woman's car was spotted by a passerby in Davenport Canyon late Tuesday night. Tooele County sheriff's deputies responded and located the woman's body about 100 yards away.

The specific means of her death were not released. However, police had indicated earlier that the victim suffered from depression and had previously attempted suicide.

She was last seen on March 29,driving away in her 2004 Black Suzuki Verona. The only personal items missing from her home were two bottles of prescription antidepressant medications.

An endangered missing person alert issued late Tuesday afternoon was cancelled at 1:40 a.m. Wednesday after she was found.
