Services to the last of nearly 4,000 southeastern Utah customers of Rocky Mountain Power left in the dark over the weekend by power-pole toppling winds were restored by Monday afternoon.
In the wake of gusts topping 70 mph, nine poles went down triggering outages in the Scofield, Aneth and Montezuma Creek areas Sunday night. By dawn Monday, that number had been reduced to 789 — 741 in the Aneth and Montezuma Creek areas and 48 in the Scofield region.
Complete restoration of power was achieved by 9:30 a.m. Monday for Scofield, and by 11 a.m. Monday crews had Aneth and Montezuma Creek customers back on line, Rocky Mountain Power spokesman Dave Eskelsen said.
