A 71-year-old woman was in serious condition Friday after she was struck by a pickup truck on a Riverton sidewalk.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the woman sustained head injuries when a 33-year-old man driving a Chevrolet pickup hit her about 7 a.m. Friday at 13279 S. 2700 West.
Hoyal said the driver was just pulling out of a daycare center, where he had dropped off his child, and did not see the woman walking near the entrance in time to avoid hitting her.
The woman was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray by Unified Fire Authority paramedics.
No citations were immediately issued, as the accident remained under investigation.
