Welcome first days of spring, little darlings. It's been a long cold lonely winter. It feels like years since it's been here.
And, apologies to the Beatles and the late George Harrison, but here comes the sun, forecast to peek through partially cloudy skies heading into the weekend.
The National Weather Service predicted high temperatures along the Wasatch Front on Friday will be in the mid-50s, about the same as forecast for Thursday, the first official day of spring.
Southern Utah looked for highs in the low-70s under partially cloudy skies both days.
Should you venture out on a hike, a bike or just ride in the car with the windows down, fresh air will be the rule. The Utah Division of Air Quality rates breathability in the "green," or healthy zone statewide heading into the weekend.
The Utah Avalanche Center, meanwhile, rated as "moderate" the risk for potentially deadly backcountry snowslides for the mountains throughout the state.
