A person was killed in a traffic crash Monday evening near Strawberry Reservoir in Wasatch County.

The collision occurred on U.S. Highway 40 just north of the reservoir about 5 p.m. and involved a semi-truck and two passenger cars, said Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce.

Poor visibility due to blowing snow was believed to be a factor in the crash, Royce said.

Troopers had not reported information about the victim in the crash or details as to how the crash occurred, Royce said.

U.S. 40 was closed for about 4 hours after the crash.

The Tribune will report further details as they become available.
