A crash in Arizona shut down a part of northbound Interstate 15 on Sunday afternoon, causing big traffic delays in Southern Utah.

The crash occurred near Arizona's mile post 13, in a construction area, according to a Utah Highway Patrol news release. While crews worked to clear the crash site, traffic in Southern Utah severely backed up on southbound I-15, the release adds.

Traffic was diverted onto Highway 91 to help alleviate the congestion.

By 5:49 p.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation reported on Twitter that the crash site was clear.
