Iron County Sheriff's deputies are investigating a man's death after his body turned up near the iron mines outside Cedar City.

The deputies were investigating a suspicious circumstances call Saturday afternoon when they found the 51-year-old's body about 4 p.m., Sgt. Nik Johnson. Investigators are not identifying the man until they can notify his family.

The mines are about 5 to 7 miles west of Cedar City, near Iron Springs Road and State Road 56, Johnson said.

The circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation, and the sheriff's office is not releasing any more information at this time.
