New Utah military charter school to open
A new military charter school received official permission Friday to open as soon as this fall.
The state school board voted Friday to approve the application of Utah Military Academy to be located in Riverton. The public school is slated to open in the fall and may serve 360 students in grades 7-12.
According to the school's application it will focus on "aggressive academics, strong work ethic, leadership opportunities, physical engagement and task oriented assignments."
The school also plans to open a second campus in 2015, given it meets certain criteria in its first year.
