Police are investigating the deaths of two people found inside a Kaysville home.
Kaysville police received a call about 2 a.m. Sunday to check on a house near 200 S. Christine Way (400 West). A newspaper carrier had noticed that a lot of newspapers had not been picked up, even though the house's lights were on, according to a police news release.
No one answered the door for the officers, so they eventually forced their way in to find Jeffrey Wayman, 72, and his wife, Judith Wayman, 68, dead inside, according to the release.
Police say Jeffrey Wayman's body was found in the living room and Judith Wayman's body was in the bathroom, and they might have been dead for a week, the Associated Press reported. The state medical examiners preliminary report confirmed that there were no suspicious signs of trauma or injuries, according to the release.
The Kaysville Fire Department checked for carbon monoxide to make sure the home was safe to investigate, but firefighters found no signs of the poisonous gas.
"Health issues may have been a contributing factor in [their deaths], however toxicology results may provide more information but will take some time to get the results," the release reads.
Police are continuing to investigate the case.
