A Utah County driver was arrested on suspicion of running over his mother while he was on meth.

The man, 19, was leaving his parents' house in Goshen about 11 p.m. Monday when his mother and father tried to stop him. The man refused to stop; his mother fell down and was run over by the pickup, Utah County sheriff's Sgt. Spencer Cannon wrote in a press release.

The woman was flown to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where she is expected to recover. She suffered broken bones and cuts.

The man would not submit to chemical tests voluntarily, so deputies took a blood draw with a warrant; methamphetamine was shown to be in his system, Cannon wrote. He was booked into the Utah County jail.
