One woman hospitalized, another jailed in Magna stabbing
A woman was in fair condition in the hospital and another woman was behind bars Monday, the day after she allegedly stabbed the victim multiple times in a Magna home.
Paramedics and Unified Police officers were called to a home at 3022 S. 8900 West at 9:35 p.m. Sunday to find the 32-year-old victim bleeding. The 20-year-old suspect reportedly was held down by two men at the house until officers arrived and took her into custody.
UPD Lt. Justin Hoyal said the suspect allegedly attacked the older woman after an argument culminated with the younger woman being ordered to leave. What led to that demand, along with the relationship of the victim and the suspect, were details not immediately released by UPD.
The victim was taken to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, where she was expected to recover from her wounds.
The suspect remained in Salt Lake County Jail on Monday, where she was booked in suspicion of second-degree felony aggravated assault, as well as class B misdemeanor possession of alcohol by a minor.
