Elko, Nev. • A suspect in a double-homicide in Utah has been convicted of kidnapping, robbery and theft in the shooting of a woman during a botched carjacking in Nevada in December 2011.
An Elko County jury found 26-year-old Logan McFarland guilty Thursday of six counts stemming from the attack outside a West Wendover casino. He faces up to life in prison in Nevada.
But Utah's Sanpete County Attorney Brody Keisel said he expects McFarland to be returned there, and intends to file homicide charges against him in the slaying of 70-year-old Leroy Fullwood and his 69-year-old wife, Ann. They were found dead Dec. 31, 2011, at their home in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.
McFarland already faces a Utah burglary charge after police allegedly found him with guns and jewelry taken from the home.
An Elko sentencing date has not been set.
