The Bureau of Land Management is looking for volunteers for its annual Raptor Inventory Nest Survey in northern Utah.
Volunteers and BLM staff collect long-term monitoring data on eagles, falcons, hawks, osprey and owls.
Prior experience or a background in science is not required.
Volunteers will attend workshops in Salt Lake City on either Feb. 22 or March 1.
"The requirements are that you enjoy Utah's outdoors, particularly the West Desert, have a desire to help the magnificent birds of prey and attend one training session," reads a release from the Utah BLM office.
Organizers recommend that volunteers own a pair of binoculars, a GPS unit and have a working email address. Two field days per month from March through July are required to effectively monitor each assigned area.
