Quick-acting firefighters were able to snuff an apartment fire before it spread to other units of a Provo residential complex.
Provo Fire Marshal Lynn Schofield said the blaze was reported at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday at 1415 W. Arthur Drive.
Crews saw smoke coming from the eves and roof of one unit when they arrived and moments later narrowed it to the apartment's attic. Within minutes, the fire was doused, with damage estimated at less than $10,000.
No injuries were reported, and occupants of the unit will be staying with relatives while repairs are made.
Residents of adjoining units were evacuated for about two hours during the incident, and allowed back into their homes at 1 a.m. Thursday.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
