A vehicle fire forced temporary closure of Highway 89-91 through Sardine Canyon late Wednesday morning, but no injuries were reported.

The Box Elder County sheriff's office confirmed the incident was reported at 10:50 a.m. Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Todd Royce said troopers assisted deputies and firefighters at the scene of the blaze, which destroyed a pickup truck and attached trailer.

Both lanes and directions of the highway were closed for about at hour at mile post 10 while the flames were doused and investigation conducted.

Royce said the cause of the fire remained under investigation.
