A suspected natural gas leak forced evacuation of the Orem Fitness Center and a brief lockdown of nearby Mountain View High School early Tuesday afternoon.

Orem police dispatchers said the incident was reported at 12:48 p.m. Questar crews were dispatched to the center, at 580 W. 165 South, to repair the leak.

The leak was fixed by 2:15 p.m., the Orem Department of Public Safety reported.

As a precaution, police had asked neighboring Mountain View High School to lock down students while authorities confirmed none of the gas had leaked into the school.

The lockdown lasted less than 10 minutes, school officials said.

No injuries were reported.
