Unified police ID couple found dead of cold-related complications
Unified police Sunday identified the couple found dead inside their Midvale home as Howard Durrant, 79, and Sharell Sund, 87.
Relatives had not spoken to the couple for several weeks, so they called police about 6:30 p.m. Friday to check on them.
When officers arrived at the home, near 7200 South and 1000 East, they found the couple dead, said Lt. Justin Hoyal. The early autopsy results show that they appeared to have died from a combination of natural causes and cold-related complications, Hoyal said.
Authorities were still investigating Sunday why the home lost power.
