A 49-year-old Roosevelt man died Thursday after his pickup collided with the side of a tractor trailer.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers said a tractor trailer hauling crude oil was driving down a hill about 6:55 a.m. near Perriette Road and 8700 South in Duchesne County when the driver lost traction on ice.
The trailer jackknifed and slid around the side, across the roadway.
A pickup driven by Dean Townsend, 49, of Roosevelt, was traveling in the opposite direction and collided with the semi.
Townsend died at the scene.
