Police are looking for three men who broke into a West Valley City home on Wednesday morning, held a family at gunpoint and ransacked their house.

The men forced their way through the back door of the home at 1725 W. 3200 South about 8:15 a.m., police said. All three men were wearing dark colored clothing and carried handguns, police said.

One of the men rounded up the husband, wife and their adult daughter and held them at gunpoint while the other two stole items from the house, said West Valley City police Sgt. Chad Evans.

The robbers stole an assortment of belongings, from electronics to tools and other household things, Evans said.

Police do not believe the victims know the robbers; they were described as two Latino men and possibly one white man. Further description was not available, Evans said.

The men ransacked the house for about 15 minutes and then fled in a car, Evans said. Investigators received multiple vehicle descriptions and are trying to determine which is most accurate.

No one was injured in the robbery.
