A Provo man is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl last year and later burning her with a hot butane lighter.
In charges filed Tuesday, police wrote that the man, 18, took the girl to a bedroom in his parents house in May, where he pinned the girl down and raped her while she kicked and told him not to, police wrote.
In August, when the girl was 15, the man was with her again at a friend’s house in Provo, police wrote. The man lit a long lighter and kept the flame going until the tip was hot, police wrote. He then pressed it against her skin, burning her and causing a scar, police wrote.
The man allegedly admitted to both actions.
He was charged with first-degree felony rape and second-degree felony child abuse.
