A four-car crash Tuesday afternoon led to southbound traffic jams on Interstate-215 west at 2100 South, according to Utah Highway Patrol.

The collision occurred about 4 p.m. when one of the cars rolled. Crews freed the drivers by cutting through their seatbelts, said Sgt. Todd Royce. All occupants were expected to survive.

The crash forced the closure of the two lanes of I-215, causing delays of up to 15 minutes as of 5 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

Meanwhile a child was flown to a hospital after an unrelated accident on Interstate 80 in Tooele County.

One car rolled 10 miles from the Nevada border. Two children, ages 2 and 4, were inside the car. One of them was flown to the hospital but was reported to be in fair condition, Royce said.
